They Sliced My Duodenum Several Times By Mistake
Their Blunders Nearly Killed Me
I Was Tube Fed For A Year
Their Mistakes Permanently Damaged My Health
|
|
They Wrongly Told Me I Had Kidney Cancer
They Did Not Do A Biopsy To Confirm Their Guess
They Removed My Kidney Anyway
They Cut My Duodenum By Mistake Several Times During Their Operation
Those Blunders Required My Hospitalization & Tube Feeding For A Year
I went to Johns Hopkins Hospital to get fixed a year after their mistakes
They Had Me Sign Blank Forms Just Before The Operation
The More Mistakes They Made, The More Money They Pocketed
I would have been better off going to Witch Doctors

Should the Virginia Medical Board License Primitive Witch Doctors to practice medicine in Virginia?
They certainly would have done much less harm to me than these two licensed Virginia Medical Doctors did

This is the Hospital Where I was Nearly Killed By Mistakes of These Doctors
HOWEVER, A Nurse There Saved My Life because she motivated me to Ask For A Transfer To Johns Hopkins Hospital In Baltimore, Which I Believe, Did In Fact, Save My Life
I Will Be Forever Grateful To That Nurse! God Bless Her For Doing What These Doctors Did Not Do. (Doctors are obligated by the Hippocratic oath to refer a patient to competent doctors when they can't help a patient.)
God Bless All The Fine Nurses! And the Competent Doctors ! Did You Know That That The IRS Gives Tax Exempt Status To Hospitals Because They're Supposed To Be A Public Service, and Not Be A Public Nuisance?

This is not the type of medical care I wanted and I believe it is not the type of medical care that patients in Virginia should be forced to accept by the Virginia State Medical Board. as is now sanctioned by the State Medical Board in Virginia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia" Medical malpractice is an act or omission by a health care provider which deviates from accepted standards of practice in the medical community and which causes injury to the patient."
(The "Duck Test" states that If something swims like a duck, quacks like a duck, walks like a duck and looks like a duck, it's a duck even if you call it by any other name.)
With my case in mind the Virginia Medical Board has approved standards for Virginia doctors as follows:
Is that the type of accepted medical standard that you want your State Medical Board to approve if you're the patient? They did approve it in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Has The Vriginia Medical Board Lost All Of Their Common Sense? Are They There Just To Protect Doctors, and not Patients?

Does Virginia attract bad doctors?
Wong and Wiederhorn's mistakes have been approved by the Virginia Medical Board in Richmond, announced by William L. Harp, MD, Executive Director, Virginia Board of Medicine, 3 West Broad Street, Fifth Floor. Richmond, Virginia 23230-1712
Does Decisions Like That Attract Bad Doctors To Come To Virginia Because They Know They'll Be Protected Regardless Of What They Botch?
If it weren't for Virginia doctors like these making mistakes would other doctors, nurses, hospitals, etc. pocket as much money? Is it a moneymaking advantage to the medical community to keep Virginia doctors making mistakes? Is that why the Virginia Medical Board approved these doctors' mistakes?
I think that the Virginia Medical Board should hold Doctors responsible for their mistakes to attract and keep good doctors. What good doctor wants to be in the same barrel with bad doctors?
Will decisions like this cause good doctors to flee Virginia?

Remember that the Federal Gov't redefined "Hunger in America" by declaring that no one is hungry in America but that hungry people just have "very low food security." So now there are no more hungry people in America. (This story is true no matter how ridiculous it sounds. Click here to see the news story which states it does not pass the common sense test.)
Click here to see how the Gov't named Ketchup as a Vegetable to take food away from school children.
These Gov't actions just do not pass the common sense test!
Will the Gov't next define the "Homeless" as just "Abode Challenged"?
So, it appears that all a Gov't agency need do is redefine anything to not be what it really is, hence the "Duck Test" and Common Sense.

Virginia doctors get well paid. I am glad to pay doctors big bucks to do what they are paid to do. But I strongly object to being required to pay doctors for their mistakes as I did in Virginia.
I think Doctors should be held accountable for their mistakes. However, in Virginia doctors pocket even more money when they make more mistakes which may encourage them to make more mistakes?

The above illustration shows the Duodenum that Wong & Wiederhorn cut several times by mistake. They cut very low on my right abdomen and went up through a large area to cut my duodenum. Why they ever did that is way beyond me. I would prefer that they had cut me near where the kidney was located, not far from where it was located.
|
|
The illustration at left shows where the kidney is located. The safe old fashioned area to operate on a kidney is seen at the right Wong cut me low, as shown by the tip of the red arrow, so that you can see how far he had to reach for my kidney.
Below shows the scar on my lower right abdomen where Wong cut with higher risk than the Old Fashioned way.

If these doctors had done just one thing right (that is, safely operate and NOT cut my duodenum by mistake) I would not publish this web site regardless of their other faults.

If All This Were Not True, They Would Sue. (They Haven't.)

This Is My True Story By Terry Seaman with reference to Two doctors with Alexandria Urological Associates, Dr. Jeff Wong and Dr. Roger Wiederhorn, told me that I had kidney cancer, but I didn't have cancer at all. Their findings were strictly "incidental" since I had not had any problem with my kidneys. They told me that I should be operated on immediately or the cancer may spread throughout my body. They did not do a biopsy to make sure that their guess was correct. When they attempted to remove the "cancer" they wrongly cut my Duodenum several times which they did not fix. That resulted in me having to be tube fed in medical facilities for a year. I then went to competent doctors at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore to be fixed. I could not find a competent doctor in Virginia who could do the Whipple Operation that I needed. I had been in excellent health all my life. I do not smoke or drink. I knew that kidney operations had been perfected for years and have been done safely. I knew that it was rare, if ever, to have complications with a competent doctor. Wong told me that I would be out of the hospital in 3 days, which turned out to be 14 months because of their mistakes. During the operation and just after they cut my duodenum when I was still on the operating table they called in another doctor to fix their mistakes. That doctor failed to fix anything and I think that doctor caused even more damage to me. I knew I had to get out of Mt. Vernon Hospital and I asked for transfer to Johns Hopkins Hospital where I felt they do have competent doctors. I found that they DO have COMPETENT doctors there. The extensive damages done to me at Mt. Vernon Hospital required that I wait a year before even the most skilled doctors at Johns Hopkins Hospital could even attempt to fix me. Even then, there was a significant chance that I would die because of Wong and Wiederhorn's gross mistakes. (One nurse at Mt. Vernon Hospital told me I had better accept Jesus Christ as my savior because, she said, "You're gonna die." I was not comforted by that remark, nor was I amused.) That 14 month stay at medical facilities cost me my physical and mental health, the loss of my business, and near two million dollars in medical bills (a quantity of which went to Wong and Wiederhorn). The ruin of my business will cost me much more than that over my remaining lifetime. I deteriorated badly as I was confined to a bed for more than a year while I was tube fed. I lost 60 pounds of muscle tissue, got a painful torn rotator cuff in my shoulder. I got blood clots and edema, got blood poisoning, was in an intensive care unit for days where I very nearly died, had several operations including a TURP, had my gall bladder removed, had numerous blood transfusions, was in constant pain because of the tubes injecting fluids and then draining those fluids from my back and front where they cut holes in me (the drain hole with tubes coming out of my back felt like a 4-tine fork being pressed excruciatingly hard in my back 24 hours a day 7 days a week for a year), needed a full-time catheter through my penis so I could urinate, got painful sores all over my body, was given daily insulin shots, deteriorated so badly that I lost my ability to walk or even turn over in bed, and was given a host of drugs and other medical stuff that goes along with a botched operation. (e.g. one drug gave me symptoms of Parkinson's Disease, only to find later that I did not have Parkinson's Disease. Another unnecessary drug that they gave to me made my hair and skin feel as if I were ablaze.) While I was in the Hospital they stuck me daily to draw blood, inject drugs and do other things, which were very, very painful. My feet and legs now hurt all the time. My tits are sore because of all the drugs I took in the hospital. I now have to take narcotic pain pills and sleeping pills to get rest. I have constant ringing in my ears (tinitus) because of all the drugs. I have to take stool softeners night and day. I now feel as if I am carrying a fifty pound lead plate in my abdomen. I told the administrator in the nursing home that it would have been kinder for them to have killed me on the operating table at Mt. Vernon Hospital. Since the Whipple Operation that was done on me required removal of part of my pancreas which produces insulin I may be a diabetic for the rest of my life. If I help to save the life or health of even one person with this website, I will have accomplished my purpose. I wish that someone had properly advised me about Alexandria Urological Associates before I went to them. If you have a medical problem, I recommend that you go to a doctor associated with Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore which is only 40 minutes from Northern Virginia. It will be the best investment in your time and your health that you'll ever make. Please don't let what happened to me happen to you. Doctor Frederic Eckhauser at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland has earned the Highest Possible Rating. He fixed some of the damage that Jeff Wong and Roger Weiderhorn caused to me in their operation at Mt. Vernon Hospital in Virginia. It was the Whipple Operation. I couldn't find any doctor in Virginia who could do it. If there is a Doctor-God on earth it is Doctor Eckhauser and he works in Maryland. Doctors in Virginia should emulate him. He is everything that any patient could ask for; a stark contrast with Alexandria Urological Associates in Alexandria, Virginia. I am also deeply grateful to Suraiya Begum, MD who stayed with me through my ordeal. She has also earned the highest rating a doctor can get. The first time that she saw me in the nursing home, she ordered me to have a blood transfusion. This was without any further examination whatsoever. That saved my life, as she did time and time again. She is the one who arranged for me to have the Whipple Operation at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Her office is in Washington, D.C. and not in Virginia. During the year I was being tube fed, two hospitals did tell me to just get out, even though I was being tube fed, had tubes coming out from my belly, my arms, and my back and I couldn't walk or even turn over. It was just like the hospitals that were caught on video camera dumping their patients on the street when they had no other place to go. This happened to me at both Virginia Hospital Center and Johns Hopkins Hospital. I didn't get dumped onto skid row because my insurance paid to put me in a nursing home where I could count the ants crawling on the wall and the mice running along the baseboard. But it was a place to hang out bedridden and be tube fed until I got a Whipple Operation a year later. |

Does the Hippocratic Oath for doctors state, "First, I will do no harm" ? or "If I can't do an operation properly and safely I will refer the patient to a doctor who can." ? Does the Hippocratic Oath Have any meaning in Virginia? I don't think it has any meaning whatsoever! Hippocrates might be thinking, "Is licensing and overseeing of doctors in Virginia just sad?."

*Dr. Weiderhorn left his longstanding practice shortly after my operation and went to work with the Federal Government at the FDA so that he may now be looking after your health. He also changed the deed to his home which was in his name, and put the deed into a trust in his wife's name. Why do you think he did that? I think that is very odd indeed. However he is still noted in various places as still being associated with Alexandria Urological Associates. Health and Human Services Employee Details (The FDA is an agency under HHS)

Due to Wong and Wiederhorn mistakes I spent two Birthdays, Valentine's Day, Easter, Memorial Day, The Fourth of July, Summer Vacation, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, my kids and grandkids birthdays, & two New Year Days being tube fed and bedridden in a hospital. Years Later I am Still Trying To Recover From The Nightmare That These Doctors Caused
I even missed the Cicadas which appear only every dozen years or so. They're one my favorite events in life that I'll likely never live to see again. |
